Car Hits Toms River Man

A Toms River man is banged up with a fractured femur and a head laceration after being struck by a car on Route 9 in Howell Tuesday night, according to police. 

Authorities said 59-year-old Steven Capone was walking on the northbound shoulder when he was struck around 5 p.m. by a motorist pulling into a shopping plaza.

Police ticketed 24-year-old Andrew Delrossi for improper passing and having tinted windows.

Capone was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.
