The crash happened about a half-mile from the tip of Sandy Hook and involved seven people. NJ Advance Media reports a 20-foot recreational boat sustained damage to its starboard quarter after it was struck by another 25-foot boat, which sustained minimal damage.

A man on the 20-foot vessel was transported to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch and treated for a cut on his arm and back pain.

New Jersey State Police cited one boater for failure to maintain a lookout.
