Seaside Heights’ ‘Stopover’ a Success

Last week I said Seaside Heights officials were rolling the dice a bit by hosting a weekend music festival as ambitious as the “Gentlemen of the Road Stopover” featuring Mumford & Sons which took over the town for several days. I’m glad to report that they did not crap out but rather rolled a 7 as by most accounts the weekend was a smashing success.

‘Gentlemen’ Make a Stopover in Seaside Heights

Despite rumors to the contrary Seaside Heights will not be closed to the public this weekend although if you don’t live or work there OR are not attending a huge two-day music festival you might want to head elsewhere.

From a standpoint of the weather it would have been better to welcome the summer season last week but tonight the Community Medical Center Foundation will hold its 10th Annual Red, White & Brew Kick Off the Summer wine tasting event at the Toms River Country Club.

The band "Kinderhook Creek," now known simply as “Kinderhook," will be making their first appearance in the shore area in over three decades on Saturday as part of the fifth annual “Rock for the Nurses” fundraiser at the Idle Hour Restaurant & Bar in Point Pleasant.
