Asbury Park HS Student Assaults Principal

An ordinary food fight in the Asbury Park High School cafeteria leads to criminal charges against the student who started it.  

19 year old Shiela Burwell is being charged with aggravated assault for her involvement in Thursday afternoon's lunchroom fight.

The Asbury Park Press reports Burwell is accused of assaulting the principal, Reginald Mirthil,  and two vice principals during the fight.

The three officials suffered minor injuries.  The police officer assigned to the school helped break up the fight.

Burwell is currently locked up in Monmouth County Jail.  Bail is set at $25,000.
