Dancing With The..Stars?

It's hard to believe we're going on the 20th season of Dancing With The Stars.  Do you remember when it first aired?  ABC took a risk, unsure if audiences would embrace a show focused on ballroom dancing.  The risk obviously paid off and millions of people enjoy seeing amazing professional dancers perform with "stars."

I put quotation marks around the word "stars" because in my mind a "star" is someone very well-known.  The dictionary describes a "star" as an outstandingly talented performer or a highly publicized theatrical or motion picture performer.  If those are accurate explanations for stardom, why have I not heard of many of these cast members?  You can see who will be on Season 20 here:  http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars/cast

Every season I get excited about the announcement, and every time I say, "Who are these people and why are they going to be featured on this popular show?"   I'm not a television executive so I know my opinion doesn't matter, but I'm just curious if you'd like to see DWTS with some more recognizable names.  If so, who would you like to see in the televised ballroom?  Please share your comments below.
