It seems to be one of those things that people either don't mind, or hate...pumping their own gas. New Jersey and Oregon are the only states in the US where an attendant must pump the gas.

Having lived in a number of states, including New Jersey, I've experienced both sides of the great gasoline debate. Personally, I much prefer to pump my own gas. My mother, on the other hand, hates to have to fill her own fuel tank.

Having an attendant to fill your tank for you does provide jobs. But, at the same time, few things get on my nerves more than getting to a busy service station where there's only one attendant and having to wait. I could hop out of my car, fill my tank, and be on my way much faster.

As recently as just a couple moths ago, a poll said that the majority of New Jerseyans would rather sit in their car and wait as opposed to doing it themselves.

The topic has even come up in Trenton from time to time but always seems to sputter and die like your first hand-me-down junker that you got in high school.

So what do you think, do you like being waited on at the filling station or would you rather be able to gas n' go yourself? Vote below and feel free to elaborate in the comments section!
