TOMS RIVER - Toms River police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Fischer Boulevard in the Bay Plaza Shopping Center on Friday night. Police say a white male, about 20 years old, pulled a knife on a Pet Valu store employee, stealing $100 dollars cash from the register before fleeing. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as having short curly hair, acne and wearing dark pants, a light gray pull over and a black ski mask. MIDDLETOWN - The Middletown man accused of killing his wife handed a bag of evidence to a garbage truck crew before leaving his West Front Street home after the Nov. 19th incident. Reports say 44 year old Patrick Allen returned 50 minutes later to report his wife Kimberly's dead body to police. Investigators detained a Central Jersey Waste & Recylcing truck near their home a few hours later, discovering personal items and evidence from the Allen home. Kimberly Allen died from blunt force trauma to the head and asphyxiation, allegedly occurring during a financial argument with her husband. If convicted of murder, Patrick Allen will face 30 years to life in prison. He is currently being held in Monmouth County Jail on $1.5 million dollar bail.

TOMS RIVER - Toms River Police are investigating a pair of burglaries that happened between Wednesday and Friday. Police say a laptop and TV were stolen from a home on Third Bayway in the Money Island section. And in another incident, a Route 37 delta service station attendant reported a break-in early Friday. Over $1000 in cash was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Toms River Police at 732-349-0150

TRENTON(AP) -- The groups approved to sell medical marijuana in New Jersey are finding that one of their biggest challenges is getting local approvals for places to do business. Eight months after being selected by the state, only two of the six nonprofit groups have firm sites. Others have run into stiff local opposition.
