I have a neighbor, Greg, who celebrates Veterans Day by taking the day off. Despite being a veteran himself, he has to use a vacation day to do it.

Wouldn’t giving vets the day off be a great way to honor the brave men and women who fought for our country?

It’s one thing to say “thank you” in person, but it’s another thing for an employer to say “thank you” by offering them one day to celebrate what they did serving this country.

Whether or not they take it would be up to them, but it'd be nice to have the ability to offer a day to them.

I think giving veterans the day off would be a great way for any company to put its money where its “thank you” is.  Plus, it would be a major public relations coup if they did it.
