The other day, I noticed that my TiVo DVR was starting to fill up. It was time to make some decisions.

I'll admit, I'm what you'd consider to be a "heavy consumer" of televised entertainment. But, that being said, I like to think that I'm picky about what I watch. Sure, I have my guilty pleasure shows (the new season of Big Brother just started!), but I like to think that I gravitate towards thoughtful and/or truly entertaining fare.

But lately I've noticed shows declining in quality, or unable to hold my attention.

I used to genuinely enjoy Once Upon a Time, but lately I just found myself not looking forward to the new episodes.

I had high hopes for Hannibal too. I think that The Silence of the Lambs is one of the best movies ever. And Hannibal Lecter is a great character, so you'd think that a TV series exploring his backstory would be really engaging. I feel like, especially for a show named "Hannibal", it doesn't really center around Hannibal all that much. The central character is an emotionally unstable FBI consultant, not the infamous cannibal psychiatrist. So I jumped off that train.

Right now, I'm a little wary about Under the Dome. I really enjoyed the Stephen King book, and had high hopes for the TV adaptation, but two episodes in, I'm finding the acting to be stiff and awkward. Obviously, since I read the book I know how it ends, so I'm really on the fence with whether to stick through it or not.
