Sometimes we have to take time to think about the little things in life that make us happy. They may seem like things that are inconsequential to most other people, but they make you smile. I had one of those experiences yesterday.

Those of us who commute the exact same way every day can understand this - it gets boring. The same roads, the same lights, the same turns every day. It can actually get exciting when something small happens to shake things up a little bit.

Yesterday, on my way home, I didn't hit a single red light.

I have a lot of intersections on my commute, so I'm used to waiting for at least a few red lights every day. But yesterday, every single intersection was either green or just turning green when I got to them.

The weird part is, you don't really think about how much time you spend waiting until you get home a good 10 minutes earlier than usual by not having to stop for red signals.

It seems silly, it seems unimportant, but it's just one of those little things that gave me some satisfaction on an otherwise average day.

So what are the little things that make you happy? Tell us in the comments!
