What Is It About the Claw Machine That Kids Love?

This kind of game is in almost any store now right in the front of the store.  Kids never miss it, the claw machine, you know the one with all the stuffed animals and other things that makes the kids go crazy!

Everytime my daughter and niece walk into a place where these fun and colorful machines with this big claw in the middle, they ask for money.  The machines where you can play until you win something are wonderful.  But there are those machines where I keep putting the money in--and never win anything.
