So, maybe now we know what the drones are doing over New Jersey. They are observing us to find out how smart we are here in the Garden State. A new survey published by Metro ranked all 50 states from smartest to dumbest and good news for us here in New Jersey, we are pretty smart.

The late-night TV hacks will be upset when they end up being the punchline in their next "New Jersey" joke. Now the rest of the country will know that Jersey is one of the smartest states in the nation.

Metro said "How is intelligence spread around the United States? Well, we're about to find out. This ranking of states is based on data collected by the trusted statistics resource World Population Review. They measured intelligence using a combination of metrics, including average IQ scores, the percentage of the population with high school diplomas, bachelor's or advanced degrees, as well as SAT and ACT performance. Each state's intelligence score is calculated by comparing its performance to the national median."

It appears that New Jersey did very well in the article that ranked the states based on intelligence. The Garden State was ranked 7th in Intelligence. The top 10 is not bad and should be very happy with this survey outcome.

Metro had Massachusetts ranked at #1 with a score of 93,9. New Jersey was 7th with a score of 69.5. West Virginia finished last at #50 with a score of 12.6.
