Water Main Break Closes section of Route 9 in Lakewood

A water main break this morning continues shutting down a portion of Route 9 south in Lakewood.

The highway is closed near Central Avenue to James Street, following the collapse of two sewer pipes. Detours are posted.

Southbound traffic is being diverted west on Central Ave, then south on Sunset, then east on James Street back to Route 9.Police did not give an estimated time frame for the repairs, according to The Lakewood Scoop.
