Watch How Driving On The Sand At Island Beach Can Go Wrong
Just because you can drive on the beach at Island Beach State Park, doesn't mean that you should.
One visitor found that out the hard way this week.
Driving on the beach to fish at IBSP actually is allowed with a permit.
Island Beach State Park has a few rules, however, including:
- Have a working jack and a way to use it on the sand.
- Have a tow line.
- And probably the most important - "a current tide chart is highly recommended"
As I teased in the headline, all of this is of course building up to something. The Friends of Island Beach State Park shared this story yesterday:
So again, yes, you can drive your car on the beach with the proper permits and equipment, but it doesn't mean that you necessarily should!
