In full disclosure I have known Cynthia Suozzo Triana since she was a student at Manchester Township High School because my wife was her guidance counselor and Cyndi’s name was one I heard often because of her involvement in school activities.

The other day she reached out to me seeking advice on how to get the word out about her 9-month old son Luca who is a quarterfinalist in the Baby of the Year competition in which the winner receives $25,000 and inclusion in Variety magazine.  After reading her email I decided to help a bit…I mean I have a near two-year old grandson also named Luca and the contest benefits a charity.

Adorable Luca has made it through several rounds and finished #1 in his group but now goes up against all the other group finalists in the quarterfinal round.  A Facebook account is required and voting is underway and runs through Wednesday, November 6.  If Luca finishes first in his group he advances to the semifinals and hopefully the final round later in November.

Cyndi and her husband Alex began dating in high school and are raising their family where they grew up.  She works for the Manchester school district with a special heart for preschoolers and he is a popular local UPS driver.  They also have a 12-year old son and after years of trying welcomed Luca into their family earlier this year.

So how can you join me and help baby Luca?  You can vote for him at https://babyoftheyear.org/2025/luca-28be on Facebook and are allowed one free vote every24 hours.  There is also an option to make a donation with every dollar getting you an extra vote.  The money raised supports the non-profit Baby2Baby organization which provides essentials to children living in poverty and more.

It would be awesome to see the 9-month old of a local family win the Baby of the Year competition but in truth Cyndi and Alex already won with the arrival of Baby Luca.
