Football fans may be feeling a little lost predicting this year's Super Bowl Champion without help from the late prognosticating camel "Princess" more than a year after her death at Popcorn Park Zoo in Lacey Township.

"It's an empty feeling. It's a strange feeling," said John Bergmann, General Manager of the Zoo.

Actually, since football season started, every Sunday hasn't been the same at Popcorn Park, according to Bergmann.

"Just missing her is a big void. She was such a big part of us here and not because of her size just because of who she was and what she did," he said.

"Princess" gained national attention from her high success rate of picking football team winners. She accurately predicted the New York Giants 2012 victory over the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Raven's 2013 defeat of the San Francisco 49'ers.

"Princess" was euthanized on January 13th, 2014, just weeks before the Big Game was held in New Jersey, after arthritis made it impossible for the 27-year-old camel to stand.

Not having "Princess" around as Super Bowl Sunday approaches is especially hard.

"It's a toss up with so many things going on with deflated footballs, I really haven't thought about it yet," Bergmann said, referring to the controversy surrounding the New England Patriots.

As far as whether the Zoo will eventually name a successor to "Princess," Bergmann added, "There's only one Burns and Allen. It just hasn't happened yet." He was referring to the  American comedy duo consisting of George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen.
