It's always so sad when one of these beautiful animals we are so used to seeing, passes away.

Aslon, the beloved lion at Popcorn Park Zoo has passed away. Thanks to our friends at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge for this sad news. Aslan, developed a very aggressive form of cancer and it spread quickly.

With their best efforts and their expert veterinary team, they are heartbroken over the loss of this lion that will live forever in their hearts and our hearts for all who visited Popcorn Park.

Aslan and his sister Savannah were both a favorite at the zoo. They loved their boulders to climb and fresh grass to roll in. From Popcorn Park Refuge: "Aslan always loved surprises from his caretakers, especially new toys and enrichment boxes filled with treats and enticing scents like catnip!"

From Popcorn Park Animal Refuge Facebook page: "Aslan passed peacefully, with Savannah by his side to say goodbye. While understandably saddened by her brother’s passing, we are providing Savannah with the extra care and attention she needs during this difficult time. We are so grateful for all your support and love towards Aslan, it’s because of you that we could provide him with a life filled with peace, care, and compassion."

This is why we love the Popcorn Park Zoo, they do amazing things for animals, old and young.

We all know how loved and how much wonderful care each and every animal that comes to Popcorn Park Zoo gets. It's amazing the incredible people they have working and volunteering at the zoo.

Remember you can always sponsor any animal you choose with the Associated Humane Society, you'll be helping out with so many animals and their needs.
