Update – Popcorn Park Joins The Parkway Goat Saga
Yesterday we told you about the unusual Garden State Parkway visitors - a pair of goats who have been hanging out in the area of Exit 100 for a few weeks. Well, Popcorn Park Zoo has joined the effort to corral the critters, and their help looks like it's starting to pay off.
Popcorn Park Zoo's director, John Bergmann, told our sister station NJ 101.5 that they've managed to coax the goats off of the dangerous highway shoulder and into a fenced-in farm area.
The next step is to try to get the pair of intruders to venture close to a barn or other isolated area so they can retrieve them and bring them to safety.
We'll keep you updated on the progress. Depending on how it goes, we may have a pair of local celebrities at Popcorn Park Zoo soon!
