Union Beach man strikes four cars in Holmdel Tuesday
A Union Beach man has some explaining to do after police in Holmdel say his driving caused damage to four other cars on Tuesday.
Police say Daniel Magistro, 36, was heading north on Laurel Avenue near the NJ Transit railroad overpass when suddenly he crossed into the southbound lane and struck a mini-van being used as a student transporation vehicle.
After that he kept going, hit a sedan and continued heading the wrong way in the southbound lane before striking two more cars.
One student was onboard the van and was not injured but the driver of the school van, and the driver and passenger in another vehicle were all transported to Bayshore Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Four of the five vehicles involved in today's crashes sustained extensive damage and needed to be towed from the scene.
Magistro was issued summonses for Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane.
Holmdel PD was assisted by Middletown PD, Holmdel First Aid Squad, Middletown Township EMS and MONOC Paramedics at the scene.
Any witnesses of the reckless driving are asked to contact Ptl. James Corrigan or Sgt. Vincent Imperato at 732-946-4400.
