Nearly 6 Million Dollars In Unclaimed NJ Lottery Funds About To Expire
You ever stand in line, grab a ticket, and think, “When did this become a thing?” The New Jersey Lottery started back in 1970 after Jersey voters said yes, mainly to help fund things like education.

Back then, it was pretty simple stuff, nothing fancy. Now it’s scratch-offs, big drawings, and jackpots that get people talking all over town.
These days, it’s just part of Jersey life—stop in, grab a coffee, get a ticket, and see what happens.
