Increasingly, people are opting for car services over driving, and Uber is working to make travel safer for female passengers. This service is coming soon.
It appears that women feel more comfortable when getting into a stranger's car, Uber, when traveling, and having a female driver, and the company is making plans to give people what they want.
Uber Rolls Out ‘Women Preferences’ Feature to Empower Safer Rides
According to Uber, "For the first time in the US, we’re launching Women Preferences—features designed to give women riders and drivers more choice, more confidence, and more flexibility when they use Uber."

If you are a female Uber driver, would you prefer only driving female passengers?
The pilot project will soon roll out in select cities around the nation, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit, in the next few weeks.
Uber added, "When we first launched Women Rider Preference in Saudi Arabia in 2019 following a landmark law granting women the right to drive, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Since then the feature has expanded to 40 countries, completing over 100 million trips."
