GREAT NEWS, THANKSGIVING IS NOT CANCELLED. If nothing else this could be one of the few positives of 2020, stores closing on Thanksgiving Day, giving retail employees a much needed day off.

With all the negatives we've been through in 2020 there have been many positives. The way people come through and save perfect strangers is a blessing in itself. Boscov's and Best Buy both announced yesterday that they will be closing for Thanksgiving Day to give their employees time with their families. More and more stores are announcing they will be closing Thanksgiving Day. Personally I think this is a wonderful choice. Retail workers work so hard throughout the year, they need a day off, too.

From the CEO of Boscov's from Twitter:

Employees have “earned” the time off for working during the coronavirus pandemic.“COVID-19 has required enormous efforts from our associates and they’ve more than earned this time off. More than ever, this year has reinforced the importance of family, and this decision allows our customers, coworkers and communities to enjoy an uninterrupted Thanksgiving meal.”

Best Buy said(Twittter), “We can all agree that, so far, 2020 has turned out differently than what we might have expected. And now, the holiday season at Best Buy, including Thanksgiving Day, is going to look different, too.

Kohl's just announced yesterday that they will be closed also on Thanksgiving Day.

So that's Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods, and now Boscov's and Kohl's. It will be a Happy Thanksgiving for many retail workers this Thanksgiving Day.
