A Tuckerton man heads to prison for 5 years under the No Early Release Act for the

attempted sexual assault of an 8-year-old child. 39-year-old Oscar Cordero-Quintero was sentenced Friday after being convicted in March 2nd degree Attempted Sexual Assault and 3rd degree Endangering charges.

In a press release, from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Cordero-Quintero attempted kiss and disrobe the child in between June and December of 2012 but the child was able to leave the defendant's presence.

Cordero-Quintero is also subject to Megan's Law parole supervision for life, Nicole's Law, where he can have no contact with the victim and mandatory fines and penalties. He also has an ICE detainer and will be remanded to New Jersey State Prison.
