Trying Not To Be Late in the New Year
Around this time of year I look back on how things went and ask myself what needs improvement. That's another way of saying I am going to make a New Year's Resolution. For 2019, I'm going to try to be on time more often.
I hate to admit it but I'm one of those annoying people who's usually running late. I apologize to anyone I've kept waiting! I've always struggled with being on time but I must say that this Lyme Disease has made it worse. That is, my body has been moving slower than usual. It takes me longer to get ready. Longer to pack a bag. Longer to close up the house. Yet my brain is still setting appointments and viewing the calendar as it always does. I try to cram in too much in too short a time period. I don't allow for traffic or road closures. In recent months I've missed appointments and have been way later for things than I should have been.
They say the first step in getting help is acknowledging the problem so here I am admitting I have a problem with chronic lateness.
Let's hear some advice from those of you who are always on-time. What tips can you share to help me (and any other readers and listeners) be more prompt?
