Three different types of car accidents that occurred Thursday in Toms River remain under investigation.

Just after midnight, police say Richard Wisniewski, 55, of Toms River was heading south down Fischer Boulevard in the right lane when he struck a curb near Matso Drive followed by a fire hydrant, street sign and a utility pole.

He was checked by Toms River EMS and refused further medical attention and was then given a summons for careless driving.

This accident is being investigated by Toms River Police Officer Dan Burke.

Around 1:00 pm, Robert Dimino, 71, of Berkeley drove into the Community Surgical Building on Route 37 after his foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator.

Toms River Fire Department and Toms River Building Department also responded to the scene and posted the building unsafe.

Dimino was not injured but was given a summons for careless driving.

This accident is being investigated by Toms River Police Officer Brian Doyle.

Around 6:00 pm, Juan Grandados-Chavez, 40, of Toms River was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center after being found unconscious and not breathing by his wife with his Chevy Silverado on top of him after it rolled off the ramps in his driveway on Genoa Avenue.

Juan's son Pablo ran to his father's assistance while the family called 9-1-1.

He stated that he utilized a floor jack to lift the passenger side of the vehicle up and then dragged his father out from underneath the vehicle just prior to police arrival.

Grandados-Chavez is listed in critical condition.
