Listen Up, Ocean County, NJ: We Need More Trader Joe’s Stores
If we're calling out grocery stores that we need more of here at the Jersey Shore, I'm going to add my thoughts.
Shout out to my coworker Nicole Murray at our sister station 94.3 the Point for being the inspiration for this article. She wrote about how the Jersey Shore could use more than one Wegmans (and she's correct), but that got my wheels turning. There's only one Trader Joe's here in Ocean County. And we need more.
Anyone who has shopping at Trader Joe's knows it's a different shopping experience than normal. Yeah, they've got your normal groceries like produce, and dairy, and all that, but they've also got unique products that you can only find at their stores. And that's why we need more of them!
Have you ever tried "Everything but the Bagel Seasoning" or "Cauliflower Jalapeno Dip?" IT'S SO GOOD! Trader Joe's has the best snack foods, and when it's 8:30 pm and the store closes at 9, and you're craving a TJ's snack, you may not make it in time to grab something. Some locations (like the Princeton one) even sell alcohol in their stores! How amazing would that be?
Thankfully, Brick is a pretty easy location to get to - and it's about a 15 min drive from Toms River, but what about our friends in Manahawkin! They deserve a TJ's that's closer to them too, right? And I've been to some states where there are Trader Joe's within 5 minutes of one another - there's certainly no reason why we can't have more than one in Ocean County, I'm just saying.
Here's the good news - you can request Trader Joe's locations on their website. Click here to find out how!
