We love a good sandwich because it’s the perfect mix of simple and satisfying. It’s easy to eat, endlessly customizable, and combines textures and flavors, crunchy bread, fresh veggies, savory meats, and melty cheese, all in one neat, handheld package. A good sandwich feels both comforting and convenient, like a meal that’s been tailored just for you.

My favorite sandwich, if I had to choose, would be a classic ham and cheese (Swiss or pepper jack) on rye. On this classic, you can add lettuce, tomato, and mustard. I also love a good liverwurst sandwich on rye with onion and mustard.

According to Gourmandize, they came up with a list of the best sandwiches in America. The choice for New Jersey comes from Newark and the beloved deli. Hobby’s Delicatessen & Restaurant in Newark, New Jersey. Hobby's has been a well-known deli for years.

"Hobby’s Delicatessen & Restaurant in Newark, New Jersey, is a family-owned institution renowned for its authentic Jewish deli fare and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Since 1962, Hobby’s has been serving classics like corned beef and pastrami on rye, matzo ball soup, and hearty knishes, each prepared with traditional recipes and quality ingredients."

According to Gourmandize, "Across the United States, delis are beloved for their unique flavors, regional specialties, and sandwich-making traditions that reflect the heart and soul of each state."

So what is your favorite sandwich? Where do you go for this sandwich? Is it right in your very own kitchen? Or do you have a local place you go for your favorite?
