Marquise B. Harris, 19, was charged with burglary, theft and obstruction of justice upon his arrest early Sunday morning on Route 88, according to Brick Township police.

According to information supplied by police, officers were dispatched to Driscoll Drive about 5:50 AM, where a resident reported seeing someone burglarizing his girlfriend's car.

The resident initiated a chase toward Frede Park, police said, and gave officers a description of a male wearing black pants and a black sweatshirt. He also left a bicycle in the driveway, police said.

A bicycler matching the description was spotted at about 6:15 AM, traveling west on the eastbound side of Route 70 near Rocky Mountain Boulevard. He was finally confronted on Route 88.

Piecing together details, investigators determined that the bike Harris was riding and the one left in the driveway were both stolen.

Harris also had iPods, cash and a cell phone that are believed to have been taken from vehicles in the area.

Harris was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with bail set at $25,000.

If you live in the vicinity of Driscoll Drive and are missing items from your car, you're urged to contact Detective Shepherd, 732-262-1121.
