The Internet has become a digital marketplace over the years with sites like Craigslist, Etsy, LetGo, and Facebook Marketplace connecting local bargainers.

And now, following in the footsteps of neighboring municipalities like Brick, Toms River has set up a "Safe Exchange Zone" in the township where buyers and sellers can meet up without safety concerns.

The Toms River Police Department made the announcement on their Facebook page this week, with the TRPD parking lot at 255 Oak Ave acting as the meeting point:
