Thundering Surf Water Park Opens on Long Beach Island

I remember it like it was yesterday, the opening of a fantastic new water park in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island. Thundering Surf  opened to the public for the first time 43 years ago in 1977. I was 12 years old and ready to take on the surf! The "Thundering Surf"

I remember being excited for this first ever water slide attraction and for it's opening it

was raining! I was so upset that the first day to try out the new slides, it was getting rained out. Talk about a let down, but as fate would have it the skies cleared and we were climbing the stairs to try out the slides for the first time. I still remember flying down and thinking it does not get any better then this, we must have spent hours climbing the stairs and shooting down the tubes over and over again, trying each of the unique designs. Truly a great memory growing up here at the Jersey Shore.

Well Thundering Surf  is back for another fun season and kids of all ages will love the excitement and cooling off at the park.
