The Route 70 Flea Market in Lakewood has been a bargain-hunter's dream destination for nearly a generation.

But, with state environmental officials finally giving a proposed townhouse development the go-ahead, this could be the flea market's final season.

The Asbury Park Press reported this week that the townhouse project that's been on the horizon for a few years has finally gotten approval from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to move forward following water supply concerns.

According to the APP article, the owners of the Route 70 Flea Market say that the 2019 season will go on as planned, but it's unclear what the sprawling space on 70 will look like this time next year.
