Our first ever campaign to find Ocean County's best youth sports coach has been one of the most fun series that I've done.

It was fun because we got to read some really inspiring stories of the great impacts that coaches can have on our kids.

When we opened the voting it showed us just how passionate our communities are about these mentors.

All that being said, after the voting pushed well past the thousand mark in the first few days alone, we have a winner.

With more than 40% of the votes, the winner is:

Tony Nash - Brick Wrestling Club

Tony was nominated by Dan Santaniello. Here's what Dan said in nominating Tony:

He has been coaching for over 10 years in this program without his own child being in it. He is the true definition of a youth coach, the kids look up to him. He is not just a coach that teaches the sport of wrestling but he teaches these young athletes what is important in life. He teaches them discipline, respect and responsibilities.

All of our nominees brought in hundreds of votes. You can read about each of them by clicking here.

I definitely think that this is a campaign that we'll do again. Reading about our community's passion and love for these influential men and women has been really inspiring, so stay tuned!
