The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has claimed another 2020 music festival as Asbury Park's hugely popular Sea.Hear.Now Festival pushes its next set of shows back a year.

It was only days before the pandemic hit that Sea.Hear.Now made the splashy announcement that the 2020 festival would feature Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Pearl Jam in the headlining spot.

That same week, though, Pearl Jam postponed the North American leg of their tour that had been set for this past spring. A few weeks later they made the same call for the European leg of their tour that was scheduled for the fall.

All that being said, today the festival organizers made it official, with an announcement that the new Sea.Hear.Now dates will be in September 2021.

The good news is that Pearl Jam is still set to headline, and if you've already bought tickets for the 2020 festival, they'll be honored in 2021.

Sea.Hear.Now confirmed Pearl Jam and the fact that the tickets that are out there will be good for next year in a Thursday afternoon announcement on their official Facebook page:

The Sea.Hear.Now Festival was a huge success when it first came to Asbury Park in 2018.

So big in fact, that organizers announced the followup for 2019 only a few weeks after the September 2018 inaugural festival.

No slouches in the booking department, last year's show featured the Dave Matthews Band, Joan Jett, and the B-52's among the long list of acts that took the stage on Asbury's beach over the course of the weekend.

We'll keep you up to date on the latest details for Sea.Hear.Now 2021 as we get them!
