This holiday season we came across a fantastic way to help your neighbors and it was the idea of a local Eagle Scout. If you travel around Manahawkin you will spot the new "Little Pantries", a new way to help your neighborhood and it's one of the best new philanthropic ideas I have seen.

The Little Pantry is the work of Eagle Scout Parker Petty. My wife discovered his project in a recent Sandpaper article. Several of the Little Pantries, built by Petty, his Dad, and fellow Eagle Scouts, are located around Stafford Township in Heritage Park, Beach Avenue Park and the Bay Avenue Community Center. There are plans to install one in Ocean Acres too. Residents can leave non-perishable food items and residents in need may take them.

I can't say enough about this young man's project, it really is a nice addition to the Township. I think every town could use a Little Pantry. We actually visited one over the weekend and dropped off some supplies. Hats off to Parker and his fellow Eagle Scouts (Dad too) on a job well done 👍🏻
