The Izod Center Could Be Closing Very Soon

The Meadowlands Sports And Entertainment Complex could be down a venue, and soon. If some lawmakers have their way, the former home of the Devils and Nets could be closing as early as the end of this month.

NorthJersey.com is reporting that the 34-year-old venue could shutter by March, or even as soon as the end of January if already scheduled events can be moved.

So now, we'll add another abandoned hulk to the complex that once boasted multiple sport centers and a proposed super mall (that is already built and has been sitting abandoned for the better part of a decade).

If we're being honest with ourselves, we probably don't need both The Izod Center and The Prudential Center just down the Turnpike in Newark, but from a reputation standpoint we probably also don't need another abandoned structure next to one of the most state of the art football destinations in the country.
