The First Annual “Fight for FPIES” Benefit[Audio]
There is going to be a benefit for the first annual "Fight for FPIES" on June 29th in Jackson with The Karate Dojo and The International Association for Food Protein Enterocolitis (IAFFOPE). And proceeds will benefit patients and families affected by Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES).
Food Protein Induced Enterocoloitis Syndrome (FPIES) is a rare food allergy of the gastrointestinal system that causes severe symptoms of profuse vomiting and bloody stools once exposed to a trigger food. Symptoms may be so severe, that the child will experience hypovolemic shock from extreme dehydration and fluid loss. The IAFFPE is the only international organization in the world who is raising funds for research, advocacy, education and support of these brave patients and families.
When FPIES affected her now 4 year old son Landon, local NJ Mom Fallon Schultz founded this organization to create pathways to a cure. The IAFFPE is now governed by an international medical advisory board of medical experts who are the leaders in research and clinical management of the disease.
