The BEST Community College In New Jersey
America's Best Community Colleges
College is an interesting topic. Continuing education after high school is great for some and not so great for others. My personal opinion is that you really need to think where you, or your kids, are when you are reaching the end of your high school career. What do you want to do next and what are you interested in? College is expensive and if you really have no interest don't waste time and money.
Everyone learns differently and at the end of the day how you perform at the field you are trying to get into matters most. Some careers lean more heavily on where you were educated and some could care less. My point here is before you sign on the dotted line and owe $100,000 figure out what is the best "education" route for you.
Community college is one way to test drive the "education" system. Is college for you? Do you have a major you are interested in? Can you do it financially? So community college may be the way to go and if you love it you can then move on to bigger and more in-depth college work and if not then you know you need a different path.
With this in mind, Stacker compiled a list of the best Community Colleges in America. "Associate degrees offer students flexibility to achieve different educational and vocational goals. They usually take half the time of a bachelor's degree and could help you meet the academic requirements for many entry positions into a career."
I think we have some very good community colleges here in the Garden State but one school was highlighted as the best in New Jersey and that goes to Salem Community College in Carney's Point Township, New Jersey. Findings in the report included:
- Rank across the U.S.: 87
- Full-time retention rate: 73%
- Student-to-faculty ratio: 15
- In-state tuition & fees: $6,930
Additionally, Stacker pointed out "Community colleges that offer associate's degrees are often a more affordable option for students."\
