Hello Dear Listeners.  It's a rainy Monday morning as I write this but I'm feeling happy and sunshiny.  I'm delighted that my very personal blog post on Friday was met with support and understanding.  And what matters even more to me is that I know those websites I shared are going to help people.

In case you missed it, I posted a video "confession" of me admitting that I pull out my eyebrows.  It's a condition called Trichotillomania that many people have but hardly anyone talks about.

After reading my blog, several people commented how they have the same or a similar condition (like skin picking or nail biting), and others mentioned how they know someone who has the disorder.  It warms my heart to think that my candid sharing might lead others to some help and healing.

It was a big, scary, bold move for me to share my secret, finally, after 20 years of trying to hide my pulling.  My hands were actually shaking as I was typing the final words and clicked on that "Publish" button.

But as I said in the video, I want to use my public position to help raise awareness so people won't feel alone with their BFRB (Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior.)  The more we talk about our issues, the less stigma there will be.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for responding so positively to my blog and video.  Your comments made me glad I took the risk.

I also want to thank the smiley guy in the photograph.  His name is Doug Schwarz and he's the one who set up the backdrop, lights, and camera so I could sit down and tell my story.
