Thank you, New Jersey, For Happy Hour!

I want to give a big shoutout to New Jersey for allowing happy hour—sometimes, it even lasts for hours! You know that incredible time when you can hang out with your pals at your favorite local spot and enjoy your favorite drinks without spending too much money.

While you're there, you can chat about your day at work and complain about your boss being all up in your business and micromanaging everything. So yeah, thank you, New Jersey, for letting us have happy hour.

But guess what? There are eight states where they don't allow it. Can you imagine? No special deals on your favorite pale ale, wings, and potato platter. It's just not happening in those places. Alaska, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, and Vermont are those states.

There are a bunch of reasons why they don't allow happy hours, but the main ones are to keep people safe, because they worry about health problems caused by too much drinking, and because of the way people think about alcohol in those states. And you know what? These are all important reasons to make sure we don't go overboard with drinking.
