There are few things more stunning than the sunsets that we get to enjoy here at the Jersey Shore. And next month, you can join in on a full nighttime nature experience at one of our premiere local destinations as the sun goes down over the Atlantic.

On July 21st, the ASTRA Astronomy Club of Toms River will host a moonlight hike at Island Beach State Park as the sun sets and the moon rises from 7-10pm.

July 21st will be a waning crescent moon, which means the sky should be nice and dark, with even the possibility of catching some of the shooting stars at the beginning of the Perseid meteor shower.

In addition to a hike through the wilderness, they'll be firing up the whole summer camp-like atmosphere with a bonfire and s'mores, too!
