Upper Deerfield

One person was killed and 16 were killed when the driver of a van disregarded a stop sign in Upper Deerfield on Friday evening.

A man and a juvenile were struck and killed by separate NJ Transit trains on the North Jersey Coast Line, while two drivers and a pedestrian also died in incidents, police said.

While Upper Deerfield said all are welcome to trick or treat, there is at least one New Jersey town which has an age limit in place.

An Upper Deerfield man is in critical but stable condition after exchanging in gunfire with police Friday night at his home in Cumberland County. Police were responding to a 911 call where the caller hung up before contact was initiated prompting them to trace the call to a home on Centerton Road.
