A former Monmouth County resident has been indicted for making threatening phone calls and emails to elected officials, judges, law enforcement and attorneys and phoning in false bomb threats to government offices, police, two law firms and a commercial establishment.
Phone threats that arrived within a matter of minutes at schools in two disparate parts of Ocean County prompt swift action by district officials and police.
Anytime keywords such as “gun,” “kill” and “bullying” are used on social media and considered possible threats against Ocean County schools, the Justice Complex, the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant, Six Flags Great Adventure and even NJ boardwalks, alerts are sent to the county’s Sheriff’s Department.
