Homeowners in a section of Toms River with numerous residential enclaves went without electricity for much of the morning after a tractor-trailer that took town utility wires at the tail end of rush hour.
When the power went out in Ocean County, some of us had a bright side to look at - those of us with gas stoves could at least still make a hot meal (even though the cooking had to be by candlelight).
Yesterday our Facebook friend Arlene asked us about what seemed like a random power outage in Toms River. Today, it looks like we know what caused the blackout, and it could have been a harmless house cat.
