As college students spread out across the area for Winter break, there were many lecture halls filled with final exam takers this past week. But one class at Ocean County College had a different kind of exam - to help a local charity.

A $3 million budget hole and a 7 percent drop in enrollment has forced Ocean County College in Toms River to take measures to close the gap, according to officials.

Manufacturing businesses in Ocean and Monmouth Counties will get a chance to discuss their employment needs and the training they require at a summit being hosted by Ocean County College in Toms River next week.
