As we run around getting ready for the holidays with decorating, shopping, planning for family, and more, it's also a good time to think about those in need. And while a bell ringer with a kettle is never far away, there are a number of ways that we can give this holiday season and make sure that it stays right here in our community.
Being that we're not even halfway through October yet, it may seem jarring to start thinking about the holiday season, but it's never too early to think about food donations, and a number of local food pantries need our help now.
Over the last few weeks an awful lot of people have been dousing themselves in ice water. The great part of "The Ice Bucket Challenge" is the fact that it has been going to a great cause. Since this whole thing started, The ALS Association has raised over $10 million.
