SUEZ begins water main replacements in Toms River
SUEZ Water Company has begun a project to replace about 5,600 feet of water mains that were put into service back in the 1960's and are long overdue for an upgrade.
The eight and twelve inch ductile iron pipes have long since reached their expiration date on Kettle Creek Road, Larch Drive, Sherwood Lane and Shasta Lane in Toms River.
Services to about 80 people will be renewed in addition to the replacement of fire hydrants.
The project will run thru August of this year, weather permitting SUEZ Officials say, and crews will be on the roads between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm every weekday.
Another note you'll need to bear in mind heading into the summer months, the work that will be done at the intersection of Kettle Creek Road and Hooper Avenue, on Kettle Creek Road itself and between Hooper and Larch Drive will be worked on between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am the next day.
Full restoration including overlay pavement for the projects will be done by the fall.
"While much of the nation's infrastructure continues to need replacement or upgrades, SUEZ continues its proactive approach with this investment for our customers," Jim Mastrokalos, Director of Operations, said. "Our priority is clear -- to provide reliable service and exceptional water quality, 24-hours a day, 365-days a year."
