Starbucks lovers, (myself included) I have some difficult news for you. This is just as difficult for me to share as it is for you to hear.

Starbucks stores across the country are facing menu item shortages. *cue the sobbing* I first heard the news when my friend shared an Instagram story of her local Starbucks with practically no iced teas available on the menu.

What items are Starbucks stores low on?

As soon as I saw my friend's story, I had to search the web to find out exactly what the shortage is all about. Eat This, Not That shared that the shortage varies by store but items affected are hazelnut syrup, toffee nut syrup, chai tea bags, and iced green tea. The article also shared tweets from customers that said their stores were short on breakfast sandwiches, venti straws, lemonade, and refreshers.

How long will the Starbucks menu item shortage last?

Eat This, Not That shared that the shortage has been going on since June 4th, and while there is no definite end date, Starbucks is working to restock things as soon as they can.

It's important to remember not to get upset with the staff if your local Starbucks store is out of your favorite menu item, or can't make a drink you love because of the shortage. There are lots of shortages happening now, and everyone is doing their best to deal with them. Kindness goes a long way.
