If you love donuts, you've probably heard of Krispy Kreme! The popular donut chain started in 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, when founder Vernon Rudolph opened his first shop using a recipe he got from a New Orleans chef.

Krispy Kreme became famous for its Original Glazed donuts, especially when they're served warm and fresh.

That familiar red Hot Light is a favorite among customers because it signals when fresh donuts are coming off the line.

Here in New Jersey, Krispy Kreme gives donut lovers plenty of reasons to stop in for a sweet treat.

Whether you're grabbing breakfast, picking up a box for the family, or enjoying a donut with your morning coffee, it's hard to beat that fresh-donut smell!

New Jersey locations include Lakewood, Collingswood, Springfield, East Rutherford, Paramus, and Jersey City. Before heading out, check the official Krispy Kreme store locator for current locations, hours, and operating status.

And there's more good news for Jersey donut fans! According to a recent Patch report, Krispy Kreme announced plans in October 2026 to expand across the New York metro area, including New Jersey, over the next five years.

Usually, a glazed is not my first donut choice; I usually enjoy an "old-fashioned" style donut. However, when it comes to Krispy Kreme, I think you have to go glazed; it's their best.

So, what's your favorite? Do you stick with the classic Original Glazed, or do you reach for chocolate, sprinkles, and other sweet flavors? Around here, coffee and a good donut make a pretty great combination!
