Spring Is In Full Bloom An Hour Or So Away
Are you getting impatient? Really eager for spring to get here? The cold grey day got to me so I headed to the Phildelphia Flower Show. It's an annual event that puts on displays from some of the region's best flower and landscape designers.
Upon entering the Pennsylvania Convention Center you'll feel like you're in Holland. Tulips and other bright beautiful flowers are everywhere! Most flowers are in the soil of giant themed displays. Some are hanging from the ceiling. And others are growing in interesting vertical gardens.
The big elaborate landscapes are always impressive. But I also enjoy seeing the creativity of different garden clubs and school groups. On display are their visions for beautiful table settings, patios, and front door adornments.
In addition to windmills and wooden shoes, bicycles were part of many of the displays, as they are a popular mode of transportation in that part of the world.
The trip to Philly is only about a 60-90 minute drive, depending on where you are in Ocean or Monmouth Counties. So if you want a quick shot of spring to help you beat the winter blues, you can check out the Philly Flower Show which runs through Sunday.
