Toms River residents in the Silverton section should expect improved water service reliability and water quality as SUEZ is replacing approximately one mile of water main on thirteen streets this month.

The $1.5-million dollar project will upgrade the ductile iron pipes that have been in place since the 1960's and will include a renewal of about 170 residential services.

This project is part of their $4.5-million dollar water upgrade program in 2019.

SUEZ will be working on Acapulco Place, Aldo Drive, Bear Mountain Court, Caribbean Street, Catalina Court, Catskill Court, Key West Court, Mount Nebo Lane, Niagara Drive, Palisades Drive, Palm Springs Court, Pocono Place and St. Moritz Place.

"This upgrade will reduce the number of potential system failures and maintenance jobs that become more frequent as water mains age," Jim Mastrokalos, SUEZ Director of Operations said. "Fire safety will also improve with increased water pressure. The long-term benefits of this project are significant. Upgrading these critical assets helps our communities, not only today but for generations to come. We apologize in advance for any interruptions in service or construction and will do our best to give customers ample notification of construction or planned interruptions to water service."
